CLASSIFICHE ALBUM E 45 GIRI ITALIANI (3) - ITALIAN ALBUM AND SINGLE HIT CHARTS (3)

Last Thursday I started a new post category dedicated to the charts of the single hits and albums best sold in Italy during the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. Today I’m publishing a new post of this kind: the best-selling albums in Italy in 1972.
What a glorious time for progressive rock! Just have a look at the names: Genesis, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Jethro Tull, Le Orme. As many as five prog bands ranking at the top eight positions. Of course,a place of honour goes to Mina, one of the most-talented – if not the most-talented – Italian female singers. Those were the times (I mean the music, not the photo above …)

1) FOXTROT (Genesis)
2) UMANAMENTE UOMO: IL SOGNO (Lucio Battisti)
3) TRILOGY (Emerson, Lake & Palmer)
4) 5043 (Mina)
5) THICK AS A BRICK (Jethro Tull)
6) STORIA DI UN MINUTO (Premiata Forneria Marconi)
7) MINA (Mina)
8) UOMO DI PEZZA (Le Orme)
9) NON AL DENARO, NON ALL’AMORE NÉ AL CIELO (Fabrizio De Andre’)
10) MACHINE HEAD (Deep Purple)
